Well today at Brandeis was a fun one. Other then me having the most class since I finished high school we had the fun experience of having a bomb threat e-mailed into the campus police. Though the threat was just against the Heller School they decided to evacuate the entire science complex as well just to be safe. I was in class in the science complex at the time when the e-mail informing us of this was sent out. After receiving it “I thought gee that’s funny it doesn’t look like I’m getting evacuated.” Ten minutes later someone comes into class and informs of the situation and we are evacuated. This is around 2:30. Fast forward three hours to 5:30. I’m in my room when my CA (RA outside of Camp Brandeis) announces that we’re having an emergency hall meeting. He informs us that the school is under lockdown and everything is shutdown and cancelled. We are not to leave our dorms and nothing is allowed into or out of campus (as one of my non-Brandeis friends remarked “since when do Brandeis students leave their dorms at night anyway?” Another friend remarks “Last week I was taking busses all around Israel and now I can’t walk around Brandeis?”). It lasts for about two hours.
Later on I flip on the local newscast where they interview the chief of campus police. He remarks that they took the threat so seriously because the e-mail was very well written and seemed very threatening. Last I checked don’t most terrorists have a very tenuous grasp of the English language. If it’s well written don’t you think it may be a college student trying to get out of class? Idiots…
Side Rants
-Tomorrow I have even more class! 7 hours with 2 hours of break in the middle. I’ll be tied up from 9 to 6. It’s gonna feel like maimo all over again.
-Back at school in case you couldn’t tell from the main rant and the first side rant. Crazy schedule. No class on Fridays and only one hour on Tuesdays. But 7 freaking hours on Thursday!!!
