Awkwardness

Simchat Torah at Brandeis was good. Had a nice awkward moment. It went something like this: A junior girl I know walks over to me after davening and says they have someone who wants to meet me:

Junior Girl I know: Hi this is Aliza

Me: Hi, nice to meet you (a moment of weird silence) umm do I know you or should I know you?

Aliza: I’m your brother Ari’s girlfriend.

Me: Ari has a girlfriend?! I mean am I supposed to know this? Umm I mean he talks about you allllll the time.

Hope I made a good impression.

Side Rants

-Family weekend at Brandeis is this weekend.  Since my family isn’t coming do I flee campus and go elsewhere or do I stay and sit at the orphans table on shabbos?

-I might be going to the Bruins game tonight. That is if I see my roommate in time so I have someone to go with.

-Doesn’t it feel creepy to clear out someone of the opposite gender’s clothes out of a dryer to make room for your own? As one of my friends pointed out wouldn’t it be great if the person whose clothes it is walked in in the middle: ummm here's your bra nice to meet you! (This friend goes to YU surprise surprise.)

-I’d just like to point out that I picked the White Sox in 5 and people made fun of me.

-I think I need to change the way I blog (i.e. infrequently). Not sure how though since I try not to just rant about the daily minutiae of my life except for in the side rants which I only post if I have a main rant. I try to make the main rant something people who don’t know me or know me well would appreciate but it’s tough.

Me a Legend?

Well the people are demanding that I post and since when have I ever denied my fans? Tonight my sister informed me that according to Roth (whom I have never met) I have turned into a legend at Yesodei and I’d just like to make a plea to my followers: I would love to come and visit my alma mater and show you what a fine Yesodei graduate is. But the problem is airfare is too high and I don’t have enough cash and my parents certainly aren’t paying for it. So I’m just asking that all my loyal followers at Yesodei start a fly Dani to Israel fund and bring your alumni president home. And as an added bonus if you raise enough money I will waive my speaking fees when and I come to visit. What a deal!

Side Rants

-Argh! I’m getting my first taste of work since first semester of senior year in high school! I have a 3-5 page paper due on Monday and two mid-terms on Tuesday (politics and econ). And to top it off I have no idea what to write the paper on. I stared at a blank Word screen for an hour today before I gave up and decided that I’m going to have to sleep on it and save it for Sunday. I really didn’t want to do that. I shouldn’t fret too much though because we aren’t getting graded on this draft. I get a revision but there is just so much one can revise something.

-Back home again for this shabbos. New advisor lunch at the Miller’s though us newbies aren’t invited for dinner. I think I’ll manage to survive though.

-Well I hope this satisfies all your demands for a new post. Savor it because it may be a while till the next given my current rate of production.
